A LITTLE CLARITY, BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Frequently asked questions.

Helpful answers about epoxy flooring for your Toowoomba home or workspace. From choosing your finish to caring for your new floor.

Choosing your floor

What is epoxy flooring?

Epoxy flooring is a resin coating system applied to a prepared concrete surface. Different colours, decorative finishes and topcoats create a floor suited to the space. The complete system is selected around appearance, traffic, cleaning and traction requirements.

Which floor finishes can I choose from?

Explore Base colours with Flakes, Solid colour range, Metallic, Stone-inspired, Colour Quartz and Texture Coat in Design my floor. Start with the look you like, then consider how you use the space and your cleaning and traction preferences.

How do I choose between solid colour and decorative flake?

Solid colour gives a consistent, understated look. Decorative flake adds colour variation and visual texture. Compare both with your walls, cabinetry and lighting, then use the help guide in the designer to consider cleaning and traction.

Is epoxy flooring slippery?

Traction depends on the complete coating system, its texture, whether the surface is wet or dry, and how it is maintained. A smooth finish can have lower slip resistance; an appropriate additive or textured system can improve traction. Tell us about wet areas or specific requirements so we can discuss a suitable specification.

Can I use these finishes in a commercial or industrial space?

Tell us about foot traffic, vehicles, equipment, spills and cleaning routines. Select Industry compliance in the designer if your site has a particular requirement. The selected products, installation and any required testing must suit that project; choosing a finish alone does not certify compliance.

Can epoxy flooring be used outdoors or in direct sunlight?

Outdoor areas and direct sunlight need a system specified for that exposure. Tell us about sun, rain and water drainage before choosing a coating, so we can discuss suitable products and topcoats for your space.

Quotes & planning

How much does epoxy flooring cost in Toowoomba?

Use Design my floor to select your finish, enter the area and see an indicative quote. The calculation considers your selections, area and applicable minimums. Larger areas receive a lower average rate per square metre. Concrete condition and any extra preparation need confirmation.

How do I measure my floor?

Measure the length and width in metres, then multiply them to get square metres. For an irregular space, divide it into rectangles and add their areas. For example, a 6 m by 6 m floor is 36 m². Use your actual measurements rather than relying on a garage-size label.

Can I get a quote before I know every detail?

Yes. Start with an approximate area and your preferred finish, then tell us what you know about the floor. Include existing coatings, damage, access and how the space is used. We’ll help confirm the practical details before installation.

Can I include more than one floor area?

Yes. Use Add another area on the quote screen to bring different spaces and finishes into the same project. Check each area and its selections before saving your project or proceeding.

What happens after I choose my floor?

You can save your project details, use the contact form to ask a question or proceed through the available deposit step. We’ll contact you to discuss your floor, confirm the specification and preparation, and agree the installation arrangements.

Which areas do you service?

Flawless Epoxy Flooring is Toowoomba owned and operated, servicing Toowoomba, the Darling Downs and surrounding areas including Highfields, Crows Nest, Oakey, Pittsworth and Cambooya. If your town is not listed, send your location through the contact form and we’ll confirm whether we can help.

Preparation & installation

Can you coat a floor that already has paint or an existing coating?

An existing coating needs assessment to determine suitable preparation. Select Existing coating in the designer and acknowledge the short note; you can still continue with your product quote. We’ll contact you to clarify what your floor needs before work starts.

What if my concrete has cracks, damage or moisture?

Tell us about cracks, loose areas, oil contamination or signs of moisture in the floor-details section. These conditions can affect preparation and product suitability. We’ll discuss the appropriate approach and confirm any additional work with you before proceeding.

How should I prepare the space before installation?

Arrange to remove vehicles, furniture, stored items and other obstructions from the agreed work area. We’ll confirm site access and any project-specific requirements with you. Keep people and pets away from the work area throughout preparation, coating and curing.

How long does an epoxy flooring installation take?

Timing depends on floor size, condition, preparation and the selected coating system. Coats may need drying or curing time between stages, and site conditions can affect the schedule. We’ll discuss the installation sequence and expected return-to-use timing for your project.

When can I walk or drive on my new floor?

Wait until your installer confirms that the floor is ready for that type of use. Foot traffic, furniture and vehicles can have different waiting periods. Follow the written curing instructions for your selected system and site conditions, even if the surface already feels dry.

Can work be planned around my business operations?

Tell us about opening hours, deliveries, equipment and any access restrictions. We’ll discuss whether staged work is practical and how preparation, application and curing will affect the space. Keep the agreed work area clear until it is released for use.

Cleaning & long-term care

How do I clean my epoxy floor?

Sweep or vacuum loose grit, then mop using the cleaning method and products recommended for your coating system. Clean up spills promptly and avoid abrasive tools or unapproved chemicals. We’ll provide care guidance for the finish installed on your floor.

Will the floor resist tyre marks, stains and chemical spills?

A suitable coating can make everyday marks and spills easier to manage, but resistance varies with the system and the substance involved. No finish is immune to every tyre, chemical or stain. Tell us about expected exposure and follow the recommended cleaning and care instructions.

How can I help my floor stay looking its best?

Follow the curing instructions, remove grit regularly, use suitable protection when moving heavy items and deal with spills promptly. Avoid dragging sharp or heavy objects across the coating. Let us know about unusual wear or damage so we can discuss the next step.

What if I have a concern after installation?

Contact us through the online form with your project details, a description of the concern and when you first noticed it. We’ll discuss the floor with you and arrange the appropriate next step. Keep your project documents and care instructions handy for that conversation.

Where can I get help choosing a finish?

Use Need help choosing in the floor designer for product-specific guidance and the Compliance & Standards Guide. If you’re still unsure, send your question through the contact form with a little about your space, and we’ll help you explore suitable options.
